Sophie Kurylowicz
Sophie Kurylowicz is a lighting designer, production manager, university lecturer and blogger. She graduated from NIDA in 2007 with a Bachelor of Dramatic Art in Production. She has lectured at NIDA and CSU since 2010 and is now a full time as a lecturer in Design for theatre and Television at CSU.
Sophie is a lover of theatre, gardening, cooking, dogs, giving gifts, proper coffee, postcards and the wonderful World Wide Web.
Sophie views lighting design as her secret ninja skill, it’s painting and telling stories but with light. It is technical, practical and beautiful all rolled up into one. She loves climbing ladders, being stronger than the boys, using acronyms and programming lighting consoles really fast.
Sophie has blogged since 2009. She writes about little things that make her happy; food, her house, sunsets, her dog and nice things on the Internet.
She and her awesome husband made the tree change from Surry Hills to Wagga Wagga in 2012 and absolutely adore their country life.
Above are some examples of Sophie’s lighting design.
